The new project team is working hard on ProjectPier version 0.8.6. The estimated release date is December 30th 2010. The most notable changes are:
I'm happy to announce that a new beta version of ProjectPier has been released for testing.

Project releases without code names are just boring to me. Aside from being cool, using a code name simply makes life easier. So, I would like to propose the code name "Santa Monica" for ProjectPier 0.8.5 which is set for beta release at the end of May. "Santa Monica" is a reference to the famous Santa Monica Pier ("ProjectPier"-I'm sure you get the connection).
A new roadmap for version 0.8.5 has been published at http://www.projectpier.org/roadmap/0.8.5. The final release date is scheduled for 8-Aug-2009. Continue to watch the blog for information on the progress that is being made as well as any changes to the roadmap.
By the huge number of hits this web site receives every day, I know there are literally thousands of loyal ProjectPier users out there. I hope you've all enjoyed using the ProjectPier 0.8 series as much as I have. It has been a while since we've released any upgrades, so I thought this would be a good time to communicate what work is currently going on behind the scenes.
ProjectPier version 0.8.0-final has been released.
Download and change log are available here.
Thank you for being patient while the website was being moved to a new server Friday evening, we're back up and running!
Finally it is here. The release of ProjectPier 0.8 Release Candidate 1. It can be downloaded here.
But first, a little info about what's going to happen next. Release Candidate 1 is now in circulation. You should download and install this if you want to test it. Please leave your feedback in the forum here and post any serious problems in the tracker. The week of September 17th we will review the comments and issues and move forward with the final 0.8 release as appropriate. If you are using ProjectPier or it's predecessor in a production environment, you might want to wait a week or so for the final release of version 0.8.
ProjectPier has a whole new skin. A complete list of changes is available here. We've made some changes I think everyone will like, including optimizing the subject lines of notification emails for threaded reading and including the full body of messages and comments in the notification emails.
It is very exciting that there is so much interest brewing about the impending release of ProjectPier 0.8! Lots of people are excited to see it and anxious to give it a try. We get emails every day from interested people and everyone wants to know where we stand. I feel the need to communicate a little better what's going on with this project.
We are very close to releasing ProjectPier 0.8, but we won't do it until it has been properly tested. Just last week the development team was testing a release candidate - yes we found a few issues, some of which are carry overs from activeCollab that we would like to fix before releasing ProjectPier. If you are interested in helping with the project in any way, please fill out the contact form.
While you're waiting for the release of ProjectPier 0.8, feel free to download and install some of our themes - all of which are compatible with activeCollab 0.7.1. We hope to see you back soon!
