(Urgent) Call For Google Summer of Code Mentors

Yep, its on again and ProjectPier is aiming to be involved this year. I should've posted the call for support earlier, but apparently I'm a space cadet sometimes. So, apologies for the late notice but we really need people to help out with the program by offering to be mentors. All this really means is committing to being available to a student for help and guiding them through their projects.

Website Maintenance - Problems Resolved

As some of you might have noticed, we had some problems with some website changes over the past ~12hrs. I had to revert back to a backup copy, and then had to rebuild the newer data by hand. The good news is that it should all be resolved now. If you notice any problems or missing bits with the website, please let me know.

Website Updates, Free Demo, and New Contributions

There have been some more changes and improvements to the projects website and community.

Updated Release - 0.8.0.2

A new version of ProjectPier has hit the streets! Version 0.8.0.2 is another release that fixes some problems with missing files and missing ChangeLog entries from the previous release. We've also ditched those pesky Thumbs.db files in the themes directories.

Security Update - New Release - 0.8.0.1

EDIT: This release had some problems, please look at the new release 0.8.0.2

Be Quick! You have an extension.... (only because of a bug)

You may have noticed that I didn't actually enforce the feature freeze last Friday. This is because we have been working on fixing a security hole, and I wasn't able to spend the time focusing on committing all the new features. So, two important things:

New Resources

For those not monitoring the website like a hawk (as I tend to), you may not have noticed some of the new features, posts, or people that have shown up lately.

Moving Forward....

Based on my last post, I think it is fair to say that version 0.8.0 of ProjectPier has been a fair bit of a success. Its important not to rest on our laurels, especially when there so many people are looking to improve this project. (and we haven't even hit 1.0 yet)

I think the time has come to outline the plan for getting to the next release and start discussing all the details.

10,000 Downloads!... and counting

We have passed the 10,000 downloads mark for ProjectPier. That includes all the downloads from Sourceforge.net as well as the downloads from this website. This is a good sign that people are enjoying the work we are doing here and if you've been a part of that you should pat yourself on the back. If you haven't gotten involved in the community yet, don't feel bad - its never too late to lend a hand. We can always use help writing documentation, answering support questions in the forums, filing helpful bug reports and of course contributing/testing fixes and code improvements. There are other ways of contributing to the project so just step up with what you feel will help as we move forward to the next release. Congratulations to everyone for this achievement!

Project Status Update

Hey, what's up?

Well, glad you asked. There has been a lot happening with the project and its my fault I haven't been keeping everyone up to date. So, here we go:
