Please include the following hack:

This adds a check box to the task-form, so that assigned users can receive a new mail (similar to new message).
[The above hack doesn't send the mails in my case, but I may have made a mistake. It is (would be) a very useful feature).
This would be a fantastic feature to add.
I second that, my collegues often skip tasks just because they are not notified by e-mail...and i have to shout back at them ;)

Much needed indeed. Just tried the linked hack on PP, now i can see the "notify" checkbox when creating a task, but then i get no e-mail in my box...guess i'll have to wait for a new PP release :P

Thanks for the link, we'll need to test and implement after v0.8 is released.
For my business this would be a excellent thing, too, if people would directly get their new task into the inbox!!!! Will the system be able to notify about new files, too?
Is there any news on this feature?

I was using this hack with v 0.7. I would like to see it implemented with v 0.8.
