I have looked in the forum for the answer to this question and cannot find the answer.
I am using godaddy.com as the host server. Created the mySql database. All the files seem to be uploaded properly, when I get to step 3 and put in the username and database (same) and password .... I get: Failed to connect to database with data you provided.
I have upgraded to PHP 5.0x and Linux Operating System.
Is it GoDaddy?
godaddy.com requires you to use a unique hostname, NOT 'localhost'. So I had to enter: h50mysql51.secureserver.net
I FIGURED IT OUT! After many hours of searching a gazillion web pages....Happy dance....
