Description
When I try to upgrade my installation of PP in the Administration section, I get an error displayed by Firefox (not PP itself), telling me that there was a redirection error. In German:
Fehler: Umleitungsfehler
Die aufgerufene Website leitet die Anfrage so um, dass sie nie beendet werden kann.
Is that a general problem or is something wrong with my installation or provider?

I had the same problem and it was not on a local server (it was on a dreamhost account):
The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
* This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept
cookies.
What is the expected behavior of this button? Does it want ot check our servers for new versions? Cause we almost definitely dont' have that set up in drupal.
Seems like we should just remove this button (and before we release 0.8) unless it is likely to do smoething useful..
note: Upon returning to my dashboard I had a pink (warning i guess) message at the top saying "failed to check for updates"
Is it possible you are running on localhost and a software firewall is preventing apache from accessing the internet?
does anybody know if this problem still exists?
I'm not sure what it is, I have never seen something like this but since the bug is still open...
Thanks!
