"About me" text field in user profile

A simple but nice feature could be a new field "About me" in the user profile to introduce yourself to the other project members.
I was thinking of a similar feature that would allow you to list skill sets for the users.
I would like to know what each developer in my company is capable of (CSS/HTML, FLASH, ActionScript, PHP, VB, C#, JavaScript, etc..)
The project might get too mugged up if we add all these features, so maybe a simple "About Me" or even a more vague field for each user called "Notes" here we I can list their skills.
