how do you see this integrated? I'm having a hard time envisioning how a blogging platform and a project management tool would work together. do you mean just sharing logins? or something deeper?
Wordpress is not just a blogging platform, it can also be used as a CMS. I have come to realize that projectpier is absolutely amazing (wordpress is also) and making a plugin to allow wordpress to communicate with projectpier and vise versa would be amazing. Maybe here soon, once I learn alot more about PHP and the Wordpress Codex, I might try to do this...
Hi, I've been looking for integration with WordPress and ProjectPier for a while and here is a list of benefits for integrating the two.
1. WordPress.org is a very popular CMS / Blog and by providing a WordPress Plugin to Integrate the two PPs use would increase.
2. Web Designers and Developers like me would enjoy the awesome project management of PP tied into WP to run their websites and have client’s easily sign-in to the project management system without creating separate accounts. An example would be using the S2Member plugin for membership management, after a client paid for their service they could be automatically redirected to ProjectPier to begin working on their website’s development.
3. There currently are only limited Project Management Plugins for WordPress and merging PP with WP would solve many freelancers, business owners and those who have clients PM struggles.
Joomla CMS does not always recreate a custom component for specific applications but creates a bridge. This bridge allows the sharing of login credential and further the skin/template/theme to layer above the application if needed.
In my experience this is the better solution as it provides a seamless integration between the two and is a quicker fix than a custom version specifically for wordress
I've got a variation on this working. Not a bridge, but an embed.
-- For us, a bridge wasn't necessary as our number of wordpress-to-pier users is small. We just wanted an embed capability, so that pier could be accessed "inside" a wordpress page, and the client wouldn't need to go to another site for project management,
-- We accomplished this with a stripped-down pier theme, and then embedded pier inside a wordpress page using a simple plugin / shortcode / iframe.
-- It works generally well, except in IE-9 which has the iframe bug.
-- The main drawback we've encountered is that notification links point to the pier page, not the pier-inside-wordpress page.
If anyone is interested in the stripped-down embed theme (which also works pretty well for a mobile theme, by the way), I'm packaging the components for it now.

Double post, my bad...

What would be the added benefit?
If PP and WP would communicate, what would it mean for projects?

4. They're both open source!
I would be glad to make a donation to the cause.
Thanks,
Virgil
Likewise...
We agree that this would be an added benefit...

Here's the simple wordpress embed plugin:
