ProjectPier as Joomla component
I have analyzed code of ProjectPier regarding the scalability options. I have made conclusion, that there is no mean to continue to develop current code actively. I think that ProjectPier should be adapted onto some another popular and widely used framework. At my point of view is most suitable Joomla framework.
Going onto Joomla framework gives a hundreds of benefits. For eye candy design lovers, it opens immediately access to the world of hundreds of ready to use templates which are easy to install and use. For 3rd part developers, a Joomla framework opens the gate to develop easy to install and use extensions. Also it gives for 3rd part developers immediately access to the well documented framework.
I don’t have time yet to create full report of my analyze result and conclusions, but I strongly recommend to put ProjectPier 1.0 onto Joomla platform. It’s wise from many perspectives like scalability of application, marketing, fast development and 3rd part development support.
Without changing the framework, ProjectPier wouldn’t come more popular and more easier to use application with good 3rd part developers support.
Please check joomla extensions & hydra project there are 18 extensions already
PP is good enough with it's own framework which extensible in developers hands..
I couldn’t agree that PP is good enough.
The area where PP has problems is scalability. It’s complicated to write easy to use extension for PP For example like Joomla extensions, which you can create as easy to install/uninstall packages. Those extensions are easy to use even by novice computer users. And no need to hack core code.
There is some functionality, what I have discarded to write for PP due the scalability issues. We couldn’t easily expand PP. Middle name of PP is patching.

If a connection is established with the Jfusion project... once that occurs and the linking code is created... it is a done deal... they are very receptive to do so ... it would make a great step for PP exposure to the Joomla world.. ProjectFork from the people a joomla praise site have made some advances but PP is still better... Make the contact with Jfusion!
