Hey There

Hi there,

Just thought i'd check up and see how you guy's are doing with ProjectPier. It's great to see Open Source development for something as great as ActiveCollab continuing.

For those of you who don't know, i also forked ActiveCollab. Although instead of keeping everything in PHP, i went the whole mile and ported it all across to Ruby on Rails, thus making RailsCollab. Sadly though, the RailsCollab community is virtually non-existent so i've had to re-implement all of the functionality myself, leading to much expected burnout.

Still, it's great to see a community forming around ProjectPier.

I'm not much of a PHP guy, so it's doubtful i will be able to help out with ProjectPier. But maybe you guy's can gain some inspiration from RailsCollab? Notably, one cool feature which i managed to slip in recently was OpenID support, which one can actually try out on the demo at brew.cuppadev.co.uk.

Hi James,

I saw your fork when googling a few weeks ago. I also tried your OpenID login and really like it :-)

This is what we should implement in PP because this will help in larger corporations when running PP behind a firewall as well as in a SOHO/freelance installation. Since I am convinced of OpenID, I filed a feature request a few weeks ago (http://www.projectpier.org/node/65).

Thanks
Roland
