how do I get this to email people assigned tasks upon creation?

I do have the Administration>Configuration>Mailing screen set up and the I've tested both Mail Transport settings successfully so I know email IS working. However, I'm making Tasks and my people AREN'T being notified?
Where's the setting for that? Seems like kinda the whole point for the app in the first place.
