I have used JFusion and found it to be helpful in authenicating users from a master database... They have some nice installation integration and has worked on the applications I have integrated with quite nicely....
I believe you could make a connection with their project and you would have people willing to workout the specifics for integrating the two applications.
The Duo logon feature is nice allowing for one sign in and updates for the login information...
