Automatic Task Identification via e-mail

I expected that Project Pier was already set up in order to e-mail who ever was assigned a task automatically.

So, I imagined that if someone got online and assigned me a task, I would be notified via e-mail to the e-mail address used by project pier without even getting on the site. However, I see no option for this. Further, I don't see an option to set a reminder...I assumed this would be part of this package.

Can anyone confirm that the feature of automatically getting an e-mail when someone assigns you a task is actually part of Project Pier and is working for you?

Actually, ProjectPier does not send emails when tasks are assigned, nor does it send reminders. I did find another system that sends emails when tasks are assigned, it's called Collabtive (http://collabtive.o-dyn.de/). If you know how to apply patches to the PHP code, I believe that you'll find a patch for ProjectPier that adds notification emails (but not reminders).
