If we want to override certain "view" templates, we should be able to just copy the folder structure in the theme directory.
eg. say I'm using the "acSimple" theme, to override something, all I should be doing is adding a folder named "views" and then, the appropriate directories/files I want to override.
I'd like to start with "views" and then branch out to override things like controllers and models, but I think that's a little harder. I'm not sure what the proposed plugin patch does, but if it is similar to what I'm thinking about, then don't worry about it.
What do the devs think?
Hi there,
This is something I have written the code to do already (it was 6 lines) and I am in the process of working out the details of how it will work, where the template files will live, etc. with phpfreak, so you will certainly be able to see this in the 0.9 release, and if you want to develop a theme based on this functionality, there is an online repository with the 0.9-dev version of the code at https://github.com/dbernar1/Project-Pier/.
Feel free to message me if you need help with using git.
