Hi,
Can anyone help me with the real difference between projectpier and activecollab.
THe differences I noticed were : 1. price :), 2. Projectpier doesnt have a calendar and 3. the layout.
But when I read online i read a lot of people who switch from activecollab to project pier, why..

My guess would be Price. ProjectPier is free (aside from needing to provide your own hosting), ActiveCollab is not.
ActiveCollab used to be open source. The community helped develop it and then they took it closed source (as is their choice). I imagine that there is some animosity because of that.
Aside from the political aspects, ActiveCollab seems to be a great product. It has some advanced mail features, invoicing, mobile templates, subversion integration, and ticketing. All things that are nice.
That being said, Project Pier is what we (as a community) make of it. If we want those features, we can build it into this open source project. It's just a matter of donating time, money, or both.
