Testers: lets talk...
Several people have signed up to help with ProjectPier as testers: I want to start a little discussion with you.
I need to get a feel for your capabilities. We'll be releasing ProjectPier 0.8RC1 very soon. The plan is to test the RC (Release Candidate) for one week, then make any necessary changes and release version 0.8.
What does the community of testers need? Is it enough to post the ZIP file for download, so that you can install it yourself on your server and test it? Surely some of you can handle that and have the time. Are there others who have signed up to be testers that would prefer an installation be made available to you on one of the ProjectPier servers? If this would be helpful, I would be willing to do that.
Once testing begins, I would like everyone who does any testing to report back - on this forum - with the type of system the testing was performed on and a general description of things they tested - whether they found any problems or not.
Please, lets discuss testing the release candidate on this forum...

I'm currently running a copy of it and using it on a daily basis.
System: CentOS 5.x, Apache 2.2.x, PHP 5.2.x
Installation went fine, only "bugs" up to this point that I have had have been posted already. (namely, the system was not sending out email notifcations on new messages).
I'm going to be using it for my own workgroup. We'll see how it goes since we want to integrate it with Drupal so some tinkering may happen.
we'll let you know when the site goes live.
