PP Team,
I am a developer myself. I work as a software engineer for a somewhat large company (2000 employees). I've had extensive experience with their project management software.
ProjectPier would literally be perfect software, if it had the ability to create groups, or departments, within - so you could assign a task or a milestone to a specific department, and EVERYONE would receive an e-mail.
What's the point of sending a milestone to one member on a team? PP is almost broken without this functionality.
As I said in the post below - I LOVE pp, but I may use something else in the short term until this is added.
Best,
-Sam
PP needs groups at 2 levels: security groups and work groups (teams/departments).
What's the point of sending a milestone to one member on a team?
I guess the team lead should be the one to receive this.
I mean, a group can be simulated by creating a group user and having the members of a team look into this user. Yes, I know, cumbersome, you need to login and logout from time to time. For the e-mail part, set up this group user with a email address that is configured such that it forwards all received emails to the emails of all members of the team. Again, cumbersome, but if teams do not change often, it is a solution.
Are you available for detailed specification, review and a round of testing for this feature?
I would be happy to. This is great software and I support the open source movement!

I'd be happy to help implement and/or test as well.

Any update on this functionality?
It's the same for me. We have groups (sometimes changing) working on projects. It would be great if it were possible to assign these groups to a project and grant or revoke permissions to the whole group instead of having to go through each individual entry.
I'm sort of new to PP but from what I saw up to now it is really great and fits the requirements near-perfect.
But: as I'm new to this it is very possible there is a ton of things I didn't notice yet ;-)
Cheers,
Andreas
Grouping/Team options would be awesome!
