Project templates
Taken right from Ilija himself (http://www.activecollab.com/forums/topic/607/):
1. Template is a project that is marked as a template.
2. Templates are visible only to administrators and only administrators can manage objects in templates.
3. When creating project from a template you basically clone template project into a new project.
4. Everything is copied - permissions, plugins, messages, comments, files, tasks, milestones. Exceptions bring complexity so there will be none...
5. There will be no way to sync all projects when you update template. This feature has really high factor of complexity / benefit so it will be left out. From the second you created a project it starts its own "life".

So is it possible to make some kind of plug-in for ProjectPier with these templates?
Would be nice :)

I too would love to have a templates function. It's a must for an enterprise with constant project structure.
I noticed on an activecollab forum that they have code available for this. I don't know how to program for ProjectPier, but maybe someone here can adapt this:

I love this idea. My line of work we have about 10 different types of projects. Create a project from template would certainly be a benefit. 1 for speed of creating the project and 2 to ensure you don't forget a step. Find a missing step and update your template once then your next project for that template is confidently soundproof.

I agree this feature would be very useful.

My projects all have about 200 or so tasks... entering them all individually each time is very time consuming. I would like a template that would create all of the milestones and tasks for me and then I would assign them to my project staff.

Only reason we are not using PP is lack of this - seems wierd that this is missing from ann otherwise great PMS.
