Commenting on Tasks

Hi
I am not sure if I just can’t find it, but it there any way to comment on a Task? Maybe the person assigned the task has something to say about the Task, or the external Company as well. Or the Project leader sees that time is running out and can take actions by commenting on it.
But maybe this feature is not suppose to be in this place?

There was someone who wrote a patch for the code that adds this functionality but it isn't included in the current release of PP (0.8.0). Hopefully it will be in the next version.
For the time being, you may want to consider just using messages and writing about a specific task in the message. You can choose who recieves email notification about the message and people can add further comments to the message.
If its on its way thats good enough for me right now. We will actualy start using PP in our Company from Monday.

What keeps me from using ProjectPier is that I currently can not add a comment to a task. There is a patch out there but it does not work with 0.8 (I tested it and it brings errors).
Did somebody manage to adjust the patch so that it works with 0.8?

The patch is being adjusted, there has been alot of development behind the scenes to try and bring additional functionality requested to a release candidate as soon as possible.

As I said, this is the only thing I miss.
If that works, I will start using PP with my customers.

Can you provide specifics on how you would like to use comment on tasks? Like, just for project owners, by company, private, etc? Giving us as much detail as possible will ensure that we are building functionality that is useful and user friendly.
How can we add this patch and from where we can download it. I want to add the patches for the time tracking and commenting tasks and know that everyone how uses the system will agree whit me that this is very important and should be attached to the next update.

... I've installed it and everything seems to work perfectly.
I was also able to integrate it with 6G'S task notification patch.

... only problem is that each user with a task assigned to them in a tasklist gets an email notification about whichever task came very last in the their list, regardless of whether it was actually them assigned. For example, if I create a tasklist called "Widget Production" in which Bob is to "Build widgets" and "Ship widgets," Jim is to "Test widgets" and Frank is to "Sell widgets..." The email notifications will appear: Everyone gets notified of Frank's "Sell widgets" task except Bob who gets that notification twice, presumably because he had two assignments in the same list.
I've emailed 6G nicely to ask if they've done further devel on the patch in-house and whether they'd like to share with the PP community (not sure if they're members here).
After fixing the notifications above we just need to extend the notification functionality to apply to the task's comments.
Ideas?
