Hi All, I have recently installed ProjectPier 0.8.8 and am quite impressed with the features that it offers. The only issue I am facing is configuring LDAP/AD authentication. Under Configuration->General settings page displays only 3 options for LDAP i.e. Host Name/IP: where I have tried entring IP and hostname both. Domain Name: I ahve entered correct hostname, something like mycompany.com. and Use Secure LDAP connection is set to "No". I don't see any option to enter BinDN (DN for the account that has admin access to LDAP/AD) and Bind Password: password for binddn account. Since, not all users in my domain have admin access to LDAP/AD (Resara server), I need to set these options in order to get access.
Even if I craete an account in ProjectPier that has admin access to our LDAP with same username and password and enable 'Authenticate Using LDAP' option, application does not allow me to login. Is there something, that I am missing. Can someone please provide step by step configuration of LDAP/AD in projectpier 0.8.8 as without LDAP authentication it is quite hectic for us to manage users in ProjectPier.
Also, Is there an option to create an account in ProjectPier automatically if user is login for the first time LDAP authenication is successful (subsonic has this feature in-built and I like it, coz I don't have to create new accounts manually.
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated. Please let me know if any other information is required from my end.

Sandeep, I too am looking for more information on configuring LDAP. Can anyone share their knowledge on how to get LDAP configured?
Thanks.
John
If you search for LDAP you will find a number of references on this.
But the current version does not have bind user. It expects that all users can bind to LDAP. I have made some modifications to this end already and promised someone else to work on them to get it to work. I failed to do that so maybe we can pick it up here again?
I would love to help with whatever I can do advance the LDAP functionality. We allow anonymous bind, so the bind issue is not that important to me, although I know it's important to others. What would be most useful would be the ability to restrict access based on an LDAP group membership. Either way, I'm happy to help (test).
Great, I will contact you offline to get this resolved. Thanks!
Hi Sandeep,
I am having exactly same problem with pp088 & LDAP. If you know the solution please let me know.
