Can not view PDF files over 500kb

Tagged:

Hi,

It would seem that if I upload a PDF file that is over KB in sixe it will not display in the preview/browser and then when it's downloaded it says that the file is damaged? Only happens when a file is over 500kb in size. Anything under the 500kb size work like a charm.

Is this a known issue, anything I can do to fix this?

Any help greatly received.

Many thanks
Stuart

Some people are having this problem when using the database for file storage. It is not known exactly what configuration causes this. Reference these existing topics.

The workaround seems to be to use disk file storage instead of database file storage under Administration > Configuration > General > File Storage.

Thank you, that's done the trick. Although none of the previously uploaded files work now, but I guess that was to be expected ;)

I can now upload, view and download all files intact.

Thank you for your response - sorry for the late thanks!

Yes, switching upload modes should come with a warning that it breaks previously uploaded files. This warning should be added to PP in the future (or the problem fixed so all uploads regardless of mode can still be downloaded).
