Preserve task formatting & parse links

It would be nice if task formatting was preserved. Right now, when I create a task and add line breaks between lines/paragraphs, these are all collapsed into one giant block of text.

Along a similar line, it would be nice if urls added to tasks and messages were parsed into clickable links.

If you use textile formatting in your messages, you can add clickable links. Tasks are not meant to have formatting, but there is development to allow messages to be added to tasks which would then provide formatting.

Having task descriptions would be super. Currently I am having to enter a large block of text and that makes it all confusing.

A seperate "description" field with textile enabled for each task would be great.

i suppose that would necessitate a means of viewing the description.. Maybe a "view" button is required per task in addition to the "edit" and "delete"

Textile is not bad, at least it's quicker than typing out the full html but I"m with Warren on the automatic parsing of urls, I think this would be very helpful. Thanks for the information Ryan, it will be helpful for now definitely.

I agree as well, and I think preserving formatting (at least, line breaks) is a good idea too. A bug has already been filed for this at http://projectpier.org/node/260
