Projectpier for Projectpier

I was wondering why projectpier.org doesn't use Projectpier to manage the development of Projectpier? Isn't that what PP is supposed to do? Though I guess PP is not mature enough to be used for that, though using it might accelerate the development, and send out a good sign to those who are thinking of using it. It'll be a really good marketing strategy.

FWIW - in the initial stages of getting the project moving, we did use an installation of ProjectPier to organize ourselves and coordinate development. However, the nature of ProjectPier is more aimed at private/internal projects - at least in comparison to an open source project. Open Source projects require a different approach such as complete transparency of actions, open inclusion of participants, and many other aspects that do not make ProjectPier suitable for managing its own development. While the concept of eating ones own dog food is admirable, its not the right fit for this project. I'm open to further discussion if you see otherwise, but at this point I don't see it as a viable option. ProjectPier has grown leaps and bounds since we have stopped using an internal installation, so going back seems a step backwards now.

I supposed not only that but when you're talking about any code based project, there are already fully featured tools for managing code + issue tracking and all of that. Using the right tool for the job is essential.

The issue of making everything transparent and easily accessible makes a lot of sense as well.
