Declutter the interface a little?

I'm reading 37signals' blog and get to see some of their screenshots. One thing that strikes me every time is how uncluttered it is.

It would be good to make efforts in that way in ProjectPier.
For example, for a message, there is a lot of stuff that is there for no good reason. Here's what you get at the end of the text when you post a message:

It seems to me that there is no need to have twice the info that there is no comment. Plus, if there is no attached files there might not be a reason to say so. Just a link to attach a file might be enough. One can understand that if no files are displayed, there is no file to display.
That's especially true for the comments.

Additionally, some options could appear on mouse-over only.

Another example is "Welcome back User Name". While the display of the username might be useful to identify who's logged in (even then, it's arguable), "Welcome back" might not be necessary...

What do you think?

yep - the end messages data bugs me regularly. I also feel we should rework the message display interface to be more compact.

I forgot how much the file details and file list pages are cluttered too.
I'm not saying all the info displayed is useless but some is and for the rest, it could get out of the way unless requested. (javascript toggle or different page...)
