Configurable Number of Milestones on Dashboard

I'm not sure if there is currently an option available for this but I would love to see more Milestones listed on the dashboard -- currently it appears that only late or "today" milestones are listed.
My suggestion would be to provide an optional date range that could look similar to the individual projects milestone area but feature a cross project list. Or something like a simple square structure with a block for each of the number of days the person has selected.
Maybe this could be from 1 day to 14 days (2 weeks)

I would like to see today and late milestones to separated --- the colors I would associate with late and today would be different :)
are you saying to section the milestones into user selected ranges? Color coded?
Today or late - red

I'm not sure exactly but currently all I see on the dashboard are today or late milestones (not the project overview but the main dashboard). I think sectioned could work --- but I definitely would like a different color for "today" milestones than "late" because these are two different status' in my opinion and the red feels a bit strong for something that is not yet late :)
I think "due this week" and "due next week" could be a good way to separate the upcoming ones, or it could just be "upcoming milestones" and the admin can decide the range that these are shown (i.e. options in admin for 1 - 4 weeks or something).
I might have to check the code to confirm this, but I am fairly sure there is already a distinction between upcoming and today/late milestones in the html. However, it will be up to which theme you choose/design whether that that distinction is made evident in the page styling. The point of a configurable time window could be considered though.
Based on what you're saying this is currently the way things are setup.
The only difference would be configuring the number of days from 30 to whatever.
is 30 an option somewhere? a place in config to change it?
If I could have the same view as this but on the dashboard (showing milestones across all the projects) that would be great! If there were some options like, number of days to show, that would be an added bonus.
Is this possible? I need that "upcoming" advance notice so I can be thinking about them before it's "late" literally.
I'm still partial to separating Late and Today milestones but that's a secondary wish, the dashboard view of milestones is crucial. Or even a "Milestones" tab where I can see an overview would be great for all the projects at once. Similar to the My Tasks but only showing Milestones in a view similar to above.
My team is also asking for this, because some milestones go unnoticed until there is not enough time to complete them.
