Syncing websites

Is it possible to keep two project peir websites synced? I have an installation in USA and would like to do an install in China. The China team are complaining about the 5-8 second lag on updating. I am hoping I can find a way to have the China team work off the China website and then sync to USA site. Then USA work off theirs and then sync back to China. Is this possible?
You could possibly get the MySQL databases in each country to sync to each other. This would depend on your servers' configuration etc. Here is a link to a great step-by-step guide on getting replication up and running.
