Installing Patch on Production System

I made the mistake of trying to install a patch (located here.. http://www.projectpier.org/node/28) on a Production System, which has resulted in my system stopping working. I tried reversing my changes, but that has not worked. Would it be possible to create a new installation and migrate my old database over to the new one? If so, how would I go about doing this?

Nevermind, I actually figured out how to create a new installation and migrate my old database to a new one. It's actually not that difficult. All is working well now.
One thing you can do (if that happens again) is just copy over your patched files with the original downloaded files. You would only need to keep your config.php file to get the database information.
